Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Cuban-American saxophonist Alex Blade Silver is turning heads with his soulful and genre-defying sound. For the past few years while living in New York, you can hear Alex performing at NYC jazz clubs, Brooklyn dive bars, high-end events, and live theater performances.
Alex warmed the audience on October 21st for the season opening of Short Plays to Nourish the Mind & Soul at the George Bruce Library. His music, which included familiar songs and improvisation, became part of the language of the play HOLE. Among his work were beautifully created interpretations of environmental sounds.
You can find out more about him by visiting his website alexbladesilver.com and instagram @alexblade_94. We hope to also feature him again in a performance with Short Plays to Nourish the Mind & Soul. Stay tuned!
